About
In November 2006, Paul Tyrrell emailed members of The Hospital writers’ salon, asking for six word short stories for the next meeting. Those stories became the first posts on SixWordShortStory.
The group enjoyed the exercise so much that we thought we would share it. Damian Clarke established SixWordShortStory for writers (and wannabes) from anywhere to submit their work.
You must be registered to submit a story. If you have problems registering, email admin@sixwordshortstory and we’ll sort you out.
The rules
- Your story must be six words or less.
- The title must be a single word (or punctuation mark, I suppose) from your story.
- Punctuate as you see fit.
- You may format as you wish – but please take the forum into account before you create a 100 line story with six randomly placed words. It’s not that it won’t be accepted – but people people may not bother to read it.
- We pick a winner on the first Monday of each month. No correspondence will be entered into as the judges cannot write.
